South African customer visited DGCRANE’s factory on October 28-29 with an installation technician to review our production process and discuss technical requirements for a multi-crane project. The discussions led to an initial order for 11 overhead and semi-gantry cranes.

Before the visit, the customer had shared preliminary parameters for overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and a wall-traveling jib crane. Quantities had not yet been finalized, so our team prepared an initial proposal and arranged an in-person technical review.

The morning tour covered the overhead and gantry crane workshops. We discussed main-girder welding and painting, as well as how large girders are divided for container transport, reconnected on site, and packed for shipment.

A single-girder semi-gantry crane in the workshop drew particular interest. The customer requested a rail-free ground beam, a compact F-series motor arrangement, and a protective steel frame around the ground-beam motor. We confirmed that these requirements could be incorporated and recommended guide wheels to improve travel stability.

After the workshop tour, we reviewed the proposed quantities, capacities, spans, lifting heights, crane layouts, configurations, and delivery schedule in the office. The afternoon visit covered electric-hoist production and load testing, as well as the workshops for reducers, wheels, hooks, and drums.

About a week after the visit, the parties confirmed the contract details for the first order: 11 cranes across three configurations.

Initial order specifications

All three configurations use a 380 V / 50 Hz / three-phase power supply and support pendant and remote control.
