A well-known transformer manufacturer in the United States required a batch of overhead cranes and supporting steel structures. The project demanded completion of 13 cranes and steel structures within 4 weeks, shipment in the 5th week, and international delivery within 20 days. The equipment had to comply with 460V/60Hz/3Ph power standards and A5 duty, while the main girders were not allowed to be cut, posing an oversized logistics challenge.

We delivered a customized multi-model crane solution, completed production and shipment on schedule, and resolved the oversized transport issue with a professional logistics plan. All equipment was installed and commissioned within 2.5 months, fully meeting the customer's requirements.

Core Procurement Requirements

In this project, the client's core procurement requirements focused on four key dimensions: delivery timeline, equipment compatibility, logistics & transportation, and installation services, as detailed below:

  1. Urgent Delivery: A total of 13 high-spec overhead cranes of different models, along with supporting steel structures, were required to be fully manufactured within 4 weeks. Container loading had to be completed in the 5th week, and total international transportation time was strictly limited to within 20 days.
  2. Equipment Compatibility: The equipment had to precisely comply with the U.S. local power standard of 460V/60Hz/3Ph, with a duty class of A5. The scope included multiple lifting capacities such as 6 (3+3) tons and 25 tons. In addition, the span and lifting height of both single and double girder cranes had to be tailored to the customer's actual workshop dimensions, and all cranes were required to be equipped with dual control modes (pendant + remote control).
  3. Monolithic Main Girder Transportation: The main girders of the overhead cranes exceeded standard container lengths. Moreover, the client explicitly required that the equipment must not be cut or segmented. This necessitated a dedicated loading and transportation solution to ensure safe, damage-free delivery.
  4. Installation Service: After the equipment arrived at the client's factory in the United States, professional engineers were required to provide on-site installation and commissioning services to ensure rapid commissioning and production start-up.

Solution: Multi-Dimensional Coordination to Ensure On-Time Project Delivery

In response to the client's four core requirements, we established a dedicated project team and developed targeted solutions across four key dimensions—product customization, production lead time, logistics & transportation, and installation after-sales. The entire process was fully controlled and executed step by step to ensure smooth project implementation:

1. Fast Delivery: Accelerated Production and Optimized Logistics Flow

For similar bridge crane projects with comparable specifications and quantities, the industry standard production cycle is typically around two months. To meet the client's urgent 4-week schedule, we integrated internal supply chain resources and activated a VIP fast-track channel, ensuring efficient coordination across all production stages and on-time delivery.

  • Sufficient material inventory + expedited procurement of key components: The company maintains adequate raw material inventory and safety stock of critical components. After contract signing, production preparation was initiated immediately without the need for additional sourcing. For key parts such as electrical components and motors, senior management coordinated cross-departmental supply chain resources to ensure timely availability and resolve core bottlenecks in expedited production.
  • Advanced manufacturing capacity + efficient production scheduling: Leveraging advanced production equipment, mature manufacturing processes, and experienced production teams, we optimized the production schedule by running single-girder cranes, double-girder cranes, and steel structures in parallel. This significantly shortened processing time while maintaining strict quality control throughout the entire production process, ensuring both speed and quality were achieved simultaneously.
  • Immediate container loading upon completion: Once manufacturing was completed, all equipment underwent full no-load, static load, and dynamic load testing in the factory. After passing inspection, the products were immediately transferred to container loading, precisely synchronized with container arrival to eliminate any waiting time or delay.
  • Transport cycle management and control: International shipping routes were pre-planned in advance, and vessel schedules were confirmed with shipping carriers. The entire logistics process—including loading, customs clearance, and sea freight—was broken down and precisely scheduled to ensure the total transportation time remained within the client's required 20-day window.

2. Customized Design: Fully Aligned with On-Site Working Conditions

Based on the client's workshop dimensions, U.S. local power standards, and operational requirements, we designed five different specifications of single-girder and double-girder overhead cranes, along with supporting steel structures. All equipment strictly complies with U.S. industrial equipment standards. The detailed customization includes:

  • Power supply and control system: All equipment is configured with a 460V/60Hz/3Ph power system, fully compatible with the U.S. local grid. A dual control mode (pendant + remote control) is uniformly adopted, balancing operational convenience and safety.
  • Specification customization: According to the client's requirements, we manufactured NLH double girder overhead cranes (6 (3+3) ton / 25 ton) and HD single girder overhead cranes (5 ton / 20 (10+10) ton / 10 ton). The designs were precisely matched to workshop parameters, including spans of 11.7m–15.8m and lifting heights of 7m–7.6m. All cranes are designed with a duty class of A5 to support continuous production requirements.
  • Integrated structural solution: Dedicated supporting steel structures were designed and fabricated to perfectly match each crane model, eliminating the need for any additional on-site modification of the workshop and enabling direct installation upon delivery.

3. 53-Foot Extended Container Solution: Ensuring Integrated Delivery Without Cutting the Main Girder

To address the critical challenge of crane main beam exceeding standard container dimensions while strictly prohibiting any cutting or segmentation, we worked closely with an experienced freight forwarding team to develop a dedicated container loading and logistics solution, ensuring safe and compliant transportation:

  • Oversized cargo solution: Instead of using standard containers, we adopted a 53-foot specialized container, perfectly accommodating the crane's extra-long dimensions and enabling the main girder to be shipped as a complete, non-cut unit.
  • Protective packaging: Considering the conditions of long-distance ocean freight, steel structures were securely wrapped with waterproof tarpaulin for protection, while electric hoists and electrical components were packed in reinforced wooden crates. This effectively prevented damage during transportation and ensured the equipment arrived in excellent condition.

4. Installation Support: On-Site Engineering Service Ensuring Rapid Commissioning

To ensure the equipment could be put into operation as quickly as possible, we coordinated our engineering resources to provide full-process on-site installation and commissioning services:

  • On-site engineering support: When the equipment arrived at the client's factory in the United States, our engineering team—originally stationed in Mexico for nearby project support—arrived on schedule and immediately initiated installation work, ensuring seamless transition and timely service response.
  • Efficient installation and commissioning: The engineering team developed a dedicated installation plan for the 13 units of equipment with different specifications. Installation, commissioning, and trial operation were carried out in phases. All equipment was fully installed and put into operation within just two and a half months, enabling rapid production start-up.
