  • Q: Rated lifting capacity (unit: kg)
  • Qh: Total weight of the lifting device, including the hook, sheave block, lifting beam, grab bucket, hopper, and all other accessories that rise and fall with the wire rope (unit: kg)
  • g: Acceleration due to gravity, fixed value of 9.8 m/s²
  • m: Sheave block ratio
  • γ: Comprehensive load correction factor, generally taken as 1.1

Notes

  • For hoisting wire ropes, the calculation of S needs to consider the following four factors: the rated lifting capacity of the hoisting machinery, the mass of the sheave block and/or other lifting accessories, the rope winding system ratio, and the efficiency of the rope winding system (such as bearing efficiency).
  • The sheave block ratio of a single-drum system equals the number of load-bearing rope branches. For instance, 2 branches give a ratio m=2. For a double-drum system, the ratio is half the branch count. With 4 load-bearing branches and 2 free-end branches, m = 4/2 = 2.
