5 Ton Electric Portable Gantry Crane Exported to Senegal – Solving a Glass Lifting Challenge with a Smart Adjustable Design

In February 2018, we delivered a 5-ton electric portable gantry crane with motorized universal wheels to Mr. Mohamed in Senegal. This was more than just a product delivery—it was a custom-engineered solution to a very specific and complex lifting scenario.

The Challenge:

• Unload 3-ton glass crates from an open-top container placed outside the warehouse, and
• Move and lift them inside, through a warehouse gate height of only 5 meters.

The real difficulty lay in the fact that the required lifting height was also 5 meters—but the crane couldn't be taller than the gate when entering the warehouse. This conflict between crane height and lifting height is a classic logistical bottleneck.

Our Solution: Adjustable Height Portable Gantry Crane

Our engineering team designed a dual-mode height system:

• In low position (total height 4.5m): the crane easily passed through the gate while still being able to lift crates up to 3.4m.
• Once inside, the gantry automatically elevates to 6.2m, providing a full 5.1m lifting height—sufficient to handle the glass crates safely and efficiently.

Combined with motorized universal wheels, the crane could freely turn, move indoors/outdoors, and work across uneven surfaces—making it the perfect match for mobile glass handling tasks.
