Motorized Rotating Crane Hook Blocks Working Principle

The rotational motion of the hook is driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reduction motor equipped with a braking function. Through a friction coupling, the motor transmits power to a gear mechanism, which in turn drives the hook to rotate. When the motor is energized, the electromagnetic actuator is activated, releasing the locking mechanism to allow rotation. Once powered, the motor drives the gear transmission, resulting in smooth and controlled rotation of the hook.

The rotating hook can be optionally equipped with an angle locking device according to user requirements. When the power is off, the hook is locked at a specified angular position via a positioning pin. When the motor is energized, the electromagnetic actuator pulls the locking pin out, enabling the motor to drive the hook to rotate freely.

In addition, rotational positioning can also be achieved through a cam installed on the hook nut. When the hook rotates to a preset angle, the cam actuates a limit switch, cutting off the motor power supply. Since the motor is equipped with a braking function, the hook is held securely at the desired angular position, ensuring precise and stable positioning.

Motorized Rotating Crane Hook Block Applications

Motorized rotating hook blocks can be used in combination with various rigging accessories, allowing flexible adjustment of lifting angles and rotation directions. They are widely applied in environments where high handling efficiency is required and where repositioning of loads is necessary to accelerate workflow, such as in steel plants, ports, railway stations, and storage yards. By enabling quick orientation changes of lifted objects, they help improve turnover rates of materials such as steel components, ship cargo, and vehicles.

  • Steel Plants: Handling, loading/unloading, and transfer of molten materials, steel sections, and fabricated components.
  • Ports: Loading, unloading, and transshipment of cargo from ships.
  • Railway Stations: Efficient handling and turnover of freight for rail transport.
  • Storage Yards: Lifting, transporting, and directional stacking of various heavy objects.
  • General Industrial Sites: Any lifting operations requiring improved efficiency and flexible adjustment of load orientation.
