Overhead Cranes for Aerospace Industry: Key Role in Efficient Rocket Manufacturing and Launch
In the aerospace industry, the manufacturing and launch of rockets are highly complex and precise processes. To ensure the safe assembly, handling, and successful launch of rockets, specialized lifting equipment is indispensable. These machines must not only possess extremely high load-bearing capacity but also provide precise control to guarantee perfect alignment of rocket components during assembly and testing.
Whether in structural assembly, engine installation, or launch preparation, lifting equipment plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rockets.
Fields of application
- Assembly and handling of rocket components
- Installation and maintenance of rocket engines
- Maintenance and testing of heavy equipment
- Recovery and transportation after rocket launch
FEM Standard Double Girder Overhead Crane
Our independently developed electrical anti-sway automatic positioning micro-motion control system provides high-precision lifting and transfer assurance for rockets. The FEM standard double girder overhead crane undertakes the critical tasks of rocket handling and hoisting, ensuring precise execution of in-plant operations such as transportation, transfer, turning, inspection, testing, and fuel filling.

Features:
- Equipped with multiple protection measures such as interlock, overload protection, zero-position protection, and limit protection to ensure safe and reliable crane operation.
- The hoisting drum is made of steel with a small wire rope deflection angle, effectively preventing wear.
- The hoisting motor is equipped with an independent air-cooling system and thermal protection function, with protection class IP54.
- Comes with an independent braking system featuring automatic wear compensation. If required, a dual braking system can be configured.
- The introduction of a frequency conversion system resolves issues of poor speed controllability in past operations, as well as overshooting or undershooting in single-speed mechanisms for trolley and bridge travel. This improves lifting efficiency, especially during frequent operations. The application of anti-sway technology further enhances load positioning accuracy.
- The use of PLC + HMI simplifies the complex electrical control system, improves system stability, reduces equipment failure rates, and enables self-diagnosis of faults. Detected issues are displayed on the screen to inform operators or maintenance personnel, ensuring the fastest possible troubleshooting.
Rocket Launch Dedicated Crane
Our independently developed and designed rocket launch dedicated crane adopts a towerless horizontal slewing structure and incorporates advanced industry technologies. It is capable of 360° rotation and features anti-sway, position memory, precise positioning, and 90° anchoring and locking functions.
With safety measures such as wind-resistance torque protection, redundant backup mechanisms, and wire rope breakage protection, along with an integrated fault self-recovery system, it provides maximum assurance for the safe and stable launch of rockets.
