Project Background

This project involved supplying a single girder gantry crane for use inside a client’s workshop in Tanzania. The workshop lacked steel columns and runway beams, making a traditional overhead crane installation difficult. After evaluating the site conditions, we provided the client with two options: an overhead crane with supporting runway beams or a gantry crane. Considering cost-effectiveness, installation convenience, and structural constraints, the client ultimately chose the gantry crane solution.

Project Challenges

The main challenge was the limited height of the workshop, which constrained the available lifting height. Additionally, the absence of a steel structure for installing runway beams ruled out conventional overhead cranes. It was essential to propose a solution that would maximize lifting height within these constraints while ensuring stability and safety.

Our Solution

To address the site limitations, we recommended the MH-type single girder gantry crane with a low headroom electric hoist. The crane features a box-shaped steel main beam and a high-strength leg frame design, offering a balance of lightweight structure and high load-bearing capacity. The low headroom design optimizes lifting height within the workshop's vertical limits. The system operates smoothly and reliably, meeting the requirements of indoor material handling operations.

To ensure timely delivery and reliable product performance, our internal teams worked closely together, strictly managing every stage of the process—from raw material sourcing and structural fabrication to assembly and factory inspection. Before shipment, the crane underwent comprehensive trial runs and safety performance testing to guarantee it met all on-site operational standards.
