Operating Principle of TBM Gantry Crane
This series of TBM gantry crane can not only lift the cutter head, but also adjust the lifting speed through methods such as frequency conversion speed regulation and alternating wire rope winding, adapting to the lifting of tunnel segments and other components under normal working conditions. This multi-purpose design saves on installation and operating costs and improves labor efficiency.

- Featuring an innovative design, this crane is adaptable to the installation of cutter heads and tunnel segments of varying diameters and weights. Cranes with lifting capacities of 400t, 200t, 130t, and 100t are suitable for cutter heads with diameters of 15m, 13m, and 6.3m, meeting diverse operational needs.
- Utilizing ANSYS analysis, the crane structure was optimized, reducing wheel diameter while meeting usage requirements. This not only lowers the overall height but also reduces wheel pressure, significantly reducing construction costs and providing users with more efficient operating space.
- Employing a proprietary crane lifting device, it can rotate 360° to adapt to different excavation directions.
- The two trolley mechanisms can be operated in conjunction to lift the cutterhead, or they can be used independently to lift tunnel segments, meeting different application requirements.
- The bending curvature diameter of the wire rope was modified, thereby improving local stress and increasing lifting capacity.
- When lifting relatively light loose parts, the method of alternating the winding of the wire rope in the pulley block was changed. The wire rope was wound around a new fixed pulley block, which changed the ratio of the lifting pulley block, thus accelerating the lifting process.
Operating Environment of TBM Gantry Crane
- The crane is powered by three-phase AC, with a rated power of 50Hz and a rated voltage of 380V.
- The operating ambient temperature is -20~45℃, and the maximum humidity is not lower than 95% (with condensation).
- The wind speed during operation should not exceed 20m/s.
- The working class is A3 or A4.
Features of the Lifting Device
A rotatable multi-functional lifting tool, mainly composed of thrust bearings, connecting shafts, upper and lower crossbeams, and connecting nuts, is adopted to the needs of different excavation directions: there is a thrust bearing between the upper and lower lifting crossbeams, and the lower crossbeam can be adjusted in angle according to installation requirements.
