Det har h\u00f8jere styrke, h\u00e5rdhed, elasticitet og h\u00e6rdeevne end almindeligt st\u00e5l. Varmebehandlingen af kranhjul involverer typisk bratk\u00f8ling og temperering, hvilket resulterer i en h\u00e6rdet troostitstruktur.
